The aims of the Year 8 Food rotation are:

  • Understanding the role of starchy foods in the diet
  • Make a range of meals using starchy ingredients
  • Learn what each nutrient is
  • Understand the function of ingredients used in food
  • Understand an adolescents dietry needs
  • Make a range of layered food products. These are meals that consist of 3 seperate components so these lessons are challenging for students.
  • Understand food safety + hygeine
  • Understand the importance of the safety policy
  • Make a range of food products demonstrating various cooking techniques
